Stan recently completed writing a music law reference book. In addition, he continues on the updated and expanded edition of his book They Fought the Law: Rock Music Goes to Court.
In December 2009, Stan presented "Entertainment Law in Review" to the Nashville Bar Association. He also spoke on "The Year in Review" to the Copyright Society of the South in Nashville.
In October 2009, Stan presented a speech on "Legal Liabilities for Entertainment & Sports Attorneys" to the American Bar Association Annual Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries in New York City.
Also in October 2009, Stan presented a "Roundup of Recent Court Decisions" to the Texas Bar's 19th Annual Entertainment Law Institute in Austin. He also moderated a panel on "Recent Legislation and Related Issues" at the Texas Bar event.
Additionally in October 2009, Stan participated in a panel discussion hosted by Rocky Mountain PBS that followed a screening of the documentary Copyright Criminals at the Starz Film Center in Denver.
In September 2009, Stan presented "The Grammy Foundation Entertainment Law Initiative Writing Competition Workshop," co-sponsored by the Sports & Entertainment Law Student Association at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder.
In August 2009, Stan spoke on "Copyright and Intellectual Property" at the Association of College & Research Libraries' "Scholarly Communication 101" Workshop, hosted by the University of Colorado's Denver Campus at the Auraria Library.
